You are bidding on a brand new and factory sealed VHS Tape of Colonial Williamsburg:

Gunsmith of Williamsburg.

This video dramatization takes you back to a time when every able-bodied man in America was required by law to have a serviceable weapon and an adequate supply of gun powder and shot in his home.  The gun was a vital part of life in colonial Williamsburg and this docu-drama demonstrates the loving care that went into making each weapon.

The master gunsmith in the video is no actor: he is a highly skilled, self trained craftsman-- probably the only living American gunsmith who makes precisely authentic reproductions of 18 century guns from start to finish, primarily using tools that also are homemade.

In the story, the gunsmith explains the principal parts of an early American rifle and describes how each was individually constructed for every rifle.  You'll see the extreme care and proud workmanship that were characteristic of the craftsmen of the colonies.

You'll also be wrapped up in the mood of the era.  A new country was about to be born and colonists were torn between loyalty to the king and loyalty to a new liberty with co-patriots.  Revolution was stirring and with increasing frequency the colonists depended on their weapons to send a message of freedom to the British Crown.

The guns used in Colonial America were crude military weapons.  Rifles were not commonly used in battles until about the time of the American Revolution.  In the video, you gain insight into the history and traditions of guns in America prior to 1776.

Gunsmith of Williamsburg is an informative and entertaining return to an earlier time in American History.

This is a perfect tape for any and all history buffs, teachers or educators.

It also makes a wonderful and thoughtful gift!

Again, this is a brand new, factory sealed color VHS Video Tape.

 It runs approximately 59 minutes.

Thanks for looking and please email questions early! Good Luck and Bid Now.
