Common Milkweed's scientific name is Asclepias syriaca

A favorite of Monarch butterflies and the food source for their offspring, Common Milkweed produces a plethora of small lavender flowers from June through August.

Common Milkweed, which grows rapidly, reaches between 2 to 5 feet tall, and thrives in sunny or lightly shaded environments. From well-drained soil to tough clay, these plants will grow in almost any soil condition.

This plant is deer resistant and makes great cut flowers! It also attracts butterflies to make a beautiful butterfly garden.

These seeds are hand-picked from the plant's native habitat (all are native to the United States). Hand picking ensures that the seeds are picked when they are ripe and also ensures that your packet is filled with seed from this plant ONLY.

These are not grown in a nursery. To preserve their quality the seeds are taken from the plant as it grows in the wild.
