Where will it work? The “Super Cool” twin temperature sensing cooling fan was designed to work on…
· Receivers and Amplifiers…Your 100 watt RMS amplifiers and receivers are trying to radiate the heat out of the rack cabinet enclosures.
· Aquariums…Are those Reef Aquarium lights heating up your tank above 80 degrees? Those poor fish. Those poor corals. Use the “Super Cool” cooling fan to help pull heat away from those lights.
Note about filters on fans: Filters are not needed as air comes in from the back open slot of aquariums and exhaust out of the top of the hood. Therefore if you do wish to filter the air coming in then you should buy some filter media for air conditioners (Home Depot or Walmart) and cover up the back open vent of your aquarium to filter the incoming air. Leaving these fans free flowing as possible (without filters or grills) will be the most effective cooling).
About the fan…ActionsRus has matched two low profile, 80mm x 25mm (About 3.25" x 1") temperature sensing fans to a DC low voltage transformer. We selected an 80mm commercial grade fan which has stronger crack resistant plastics. We selected DC fans over AC fans to help eliminate noise and distortion that can be accompanied with AC fans and electronic equipment. We also use a UL listed 110vac to safe 12vdc converter transformer. The fan starts up as soon as it is plugged in and is very quiet at room temperature. As your lights or equipment turn on the fan will spin at a faster RPM (check it out with your hair dryer and see it increase with speed as heat is applied). It works great ontop of aquarium hoods because with a 3 1/4" cutout the fan will slip into and exhaust the heat out of the top of the hood. The steady stream of air will effectively cool your equipment in less than 5 minutes. Use a #10 screw of the length that you need from your Home Depot or Lowes to secure the fan through the 4 holes. The fan can be plugged in and run continuous, or it can be activated by one of your equipments switched sources or power strip. Transfomer cord length is 6 feet with secure soldered-double heatshrinked Connections!. Plugs into your homes wall outlet 110-120v, 50-60hz, 2 prong USA plug.
Specifications… This fan mounts so that the heat exhausts out of the square end of the fan. This will be facing the top of your aquarium hood or the back of your stereo enclosure. The fan consumes less than 8 watts. The 80mm fan measures 3.25" wide by 1.0" high. The intake side is round and the exhaust side is square for perfect mounting in cabinets and hoods with minimal intrusion. (If you cut a hole for mounting in a cabinet or aquarium top, use a 3.25" hole saw or trace around the round part of the fan and cut with a jig saw.) It can also be placed on its side and will stand up if you want to use this way.
