Outstanding Confederate cover, wonderful 4-margin #1, from Carrolton, Mississippi to New Orleans. Addressed to Carroll Hay & Co, a New Orleans merchant. Carrolton is an extremely scarce Mississippi town cancel and in the 2000 census there were only 408 residents. Three small hinge remnants on back somewhat oxidized. See images below of some of the historic structures in Carrollton. Scott retail value is $300 plus.
