Conn-O-Sax Muesum Quality Probably The Nicest On Earth

This is a MUSEUM QUALITY Conn-O-Sax. Perhaps the most sought after, rarest saxophone in the world, the Conn-O-Sax is the thing of legend. Perhaps the most advanced instrument Conn ever made, these magnificent horns were keyed to high G and low A, and pitched in F. Conn banked heavily on these horns and was sorely disappointed by the sales. Most of the production horns were actually systematically destroyed in the Conn repair school where there were used for repair practice by training techs. Modern estimates are that 20-40 of these remain, and most of those are survivors of the Conn repair school. I believe this one was actually sold. This one is in magnificent condition. If it were any other horn I'd call it mint, but since it is a Conn-O-Sax I'll point out a couple of very tiny blemishes-a very small spot where the silver has flaked away on one rod and a very tiny finish blemish on the body. Nothing larger than a millimeter. Other than that it is mint.Finish is original satin silver with bright highlights with a satin gold bell with bright highlights. This is the highest level of original finish that I have been able to confirm on a Conn-O-Sax (I've heard unsubstantiated rumors of a gold plated one, but I don't think it exists). The pads are excellent-it has had a recent repad with reproduction period-appropriate white kid leather pads that are identical to the pads that would have been on this horn when new. No dents anywhere. Includes original case in great condition, original mouthpiece, and it is ready to play or display. It should be in a museum. I doubt there is a nicer one on the planet.
