Ιn 1863 [Symiakos] Fotis [Mastoridis] presented in the harbour of Simi a revolutionary method of dive that provided the possibility of eve in the bottom more hour than that a naked diver.The diving suit that already had been applied in harbour work and in shipwrecks was propagated very fast in the sponges peach.
In the next ten years they were used in Aegean above 110 [katadytikes] machines by sponges peachers of Simi, Kalymnos, Heybeliada Island and least [Alikarnassoy], Kastelorizo, the Quinces, [Moschonison] and free Greece (Hydra, [Spetses], [Kranidi] and [Ermioni]).
