Seller's descriptionPositively NO PAYPAL please. Only about 2000 cameras were manufactured in the Red Dot 66xxxxx serial number block. An error or miscommunication within the Nikon company caused the 66xxxxx numbers to be assigned to two models of Nikon cameras. As soon as the error was known, serial numbers for Nikon F cameras were shifted to the 67xxxxx serial block. The "Red Dot" or Red Point as it is known to collectors today, was a tiny engraved dot filled with red paint. All the 66 cameras seem to have it, the same indicator in the 65xxxxx serial block for bodies whose upper edge of the mirror box was factory modified to accept the metered Photomic T Finder. If you are so fortunate to have a respectable Red Dot 66 or late Red Dot 65, here are the official Instructions books. They will certainly enhance the value of your splendid collectible. The larger gold manual for the Nikon F camera has a 5" x 7" page format, with 35 numbered pages plus covers. Inside the rear cover is the unusual SLANTWISE print code (66.8.E) B, indicating August, 1966 publication. This book is Ex+ cosmetics, complete, tight spine, no writing, some scuffing on rear gold cover. The smaller red manual for the Photomic T Finder has a 3 1/2" x 5" page format, with 23 numbered pages plus covers. This book is in Ex+ cosmetics, complete, tight stapled dspine, no writing, two dog ears on rear cover. On the back cover is the print code (66.6.E) B, indicating June, 1966 publication. Needless to say, these official Nikon user manuals are chock-a-block full of good advice, how to use the camera and its TTL finder. NO RESERVE.
