A VERY DECORATIVE COTTON DHURRIE KILIM FROM INDIA IN PALE COLOURS
Cotton on cotton. Handwoven. This is a very beautiful Cotton kilim ( flatweaves) from India. All flatwoven Indian rugs and carpets are referred to as DHURRIES. These flatweaves resemble the kilims of Turkey and Persia, but are made of cotton, although wool and silk may occasionally be used for weft. Unlike the pilled carpets, the cotton Dhurrie is made throughout India and is particularly suitable for use in the hot climate of the Indian plains. In East these type of floor covering are refer to as `Summer Rugs`, as they have a very cool look and effect. This rug is a perfect companion for rooms with modern furnishing and decor.
