This is book is entitled "CRAZY HORSE, The Strange Man of the Oglalas, a biography" by Maria Sandoz. One of the first real in depth study of one of the leader of the Indian Soldiers, but just as with Custer, there is so much more to the man of legends. I quote from liner notes: "Maria Sandoz' masterpeice...for every seeker after Western Americana. Here is a glorious hero tale told with beauty and power, and although hardly flattering, it belongs to us for here is the story of a great American. This biography of the Oglala Indian, Crazy Horse, is a splendidly done thing. She gives a magnficent picture of the Plains Indian civilization. Crazy Horse as Miss Sandoz sees him was not just another Indian brave but a great cheif, a hero in the old epic sense. Printed in 1942, paperback, 429 pages, in very good pre-owned condition.

My wife and I are Living Historians and just recently have given up our portrayls of the Custers. This is my research & reference library containing over 50 books.
