Description (revised)

This is book is entitled "CRAZY HORSE AND CUSTER, The Parallel Lives Of Two American Warriors", by Stephen E. Ambrose. The Full Story of What Led Each Man To That Fateful Day At The Little Bighorn. Quote from the back cover of the softcover version I have listed on eBay, "On the sparkling morning of June 25, 1876, 611 U.S. Army soldiers rode toward the banks of the Little Bighorn in the Montana Territory, where 3,000 Indians stood waiting to battle. The lives of two great warriors would soon be forever linked throughout history: Crazy Horse, leader of the Oglala Sioux, and General George Armstrong Custer of the Seventh Cavalry. Both were men of aggression and supreme courage. Both had become leaders in their societies at very early ages: both had been stripped of power, and in disgrace had worked to earn back the respect of their people. And to both of them, the unspoiled granduer of the Great Plains of North America was an irresistibly challenge. Their parallel lives would pave the way, in a manner unknown to either, for an inevitiable clash between the two nations fighting for possesion of the open prairie." Excellent study of perhaps the two most famous warriors in Western Amercian history. This hardcover version was printed in 1975, 527 pages, in excellent pre-owned condition, with no dust cover (I dont know if it ever had one as I purchased it pre-owned, no jacket).

I am selling my entire library of George & Libbie Custer, Crazy Horse books as well as the U.S. 7th Cavalry and other military history books dealing with the Plains Indian Wars following the end of the Civil War. My wife and I are Living Historians and just recently have given up our portrayls of the Custers. This is my research & reference library containing over 50 books. Some are very rare, some are antique books. You will want to watch all my upcoming auctions for these books. It has been difficult to come to this choice, but it is time to make room for new research. I will combine items to save on shipping for winnining bidders.

Watch my other auctions for more Old West Civil War Indian Wars Civilian and Military items as I am doing some spring cleaning of the closet. Great for reenactors CAS SASS NCOWS living historians.

ATTENTION BIDDERS: Be advised that USPS shipping rates are set to increase effective Monday May 12th. Shipping rates quoted are valid through end of business Saturday May 10th.
