| Synopsis | A master of the crime thriller, James Patterson gives us a 12th novel featuring retired cop turned psychologist Alex Cross. Cross has retired from his work tracking serial killers in order to spend more time with his family. He has opened a private psychology practice, with the hope that he’ll get out of the game once and for all. But when his former partner calls on him for help with a case, Cross discovers that the case in question has a link to his wife’s murder from years before. He is drawn back into the hunt, and becomes consumed with finding her killer, who turns out to be a horrifying serial rapist well-known for his brutal methods. Patterson’s graphic descriptions of violence may be shocking to those who aren’t familiar with his other work, but followers of the earlier books are sure to find CROSS the most personal, emotional case for the popular character.
