This is an amzing story of a 8 yr old girl growing up in extreme poverty in the Caribbean.   Young Tilou survived a devastating hurricane and overcame severe obstacles.  She had courage and perserverance that is unheard of in a child that age, or even in adults.  The story is compelling.  A must read.  I cannot wait for the sequel to come out and find out what happend toTilou.  Will Tilou find the mother she never knew?
