IR Reception LED When MCE303 system is shut down, IR Reception LED stays on indicating that the system is ready to boot upon receiving "on" signal.  During system operation, this LED blinks when any remote controller key is pressed. VFD & Memory Card Reader Samsung VFD/ IR Receiver assembly is included.  However, memory card reader and remote controller are sold separately. Optical Disc Drive (ODD) You may use the case with or without aluminum ODD cover that comes with the case.  I personally like to use this case without ODD cover so that I can see all of ODD logos such as Blu-Ray, HD DVD, and Lightscribe.

Optional Memory Card Reader We offer many different models of memory card readers.  The one shown here is a middle level model with USB port and Trans Flash support.  We also have the models without USB port.  And we also have models made of brushed aluminum bezel.  If you wanted a model with firewire port or headphone out, we have those as well.  You can pick and choose for about $9 to $15.    Aluminum ODD Cover Made of the same exact material as the case.  Back side of the cover uses double sided 3M tape.  3M tape does not leave gooey residue if you have to remove this cover later on.

Empty MCE303 Case This is how the case looks before installation.  Please review your list of content prior to purchase.  Some listings offer more components than others. Empty Rear View The major advantage of this case is that it accepts standard ATX PSU unlike many cases of this size.  However, the penalty is that this case can only accept low profile expansion cards.

Standard 3.5 Inch Drive Bay Many cases of this size come with integrated memory card reader.  This case offers a standard sized bay with a separate memory card reader.  This case is better for future upgrades.  Flexible ODD Design This ODD bay design is very universal.  ODD tray opening is wider and higher than most major brand ODD in the market.  Eject button is small on the front, but it is twice as big in the rear.  ODD eject button on your ODD and the button on the case don't have align exactly.  Eject button on your ODD will be pressed as long as it is in the general vicinity.

Numerous Vents The case has 6 vents all around the case; CPU vent on top, GPU vent on top, expansion card vent on the right, HDD vent w/ fan on the right, PSU vent on the left, and ODD/ 2nd HDD vent on the left.   Inside Look The next few rows will be all about the VFD/IR assembly and its connectors.

Rear View of The VFD Assembly This way, we thought you would know exactly what you are getting before your purchase decision. What Connects To What  The VFD assembly is very simple.  One connection for IR LED.  One connection to M/B power connector.  One power switch connection from case.  One power switch connection from M/B.

Power Switch Assembly Two connection only for this part.  One for power LED.  One for power switch.  Power LED needs 4 pin molex connection because this case has two high intensity LEDs for the main power switch.  VFD Assembly Front View This assembly works with IR Trans software.  IR Trans software lets you customize your remote control buttons and display media information onto the VFD.  It also allows you to customize your remote controller buttons and provide plug-in for other display operating softwares like Frontview.

Optional Media Center Remote Controller We offer numerous choices of remotes at our eBay store.  You can choose to purchase a remote with this case for about $9 to $25, or you can simply purchase your own high-end remotes such as Harmony or Gyration.  On eBay, you can also find numberous MCE remotes.  As long as your choice remote uses RC6 (licensed by Philips), IR Trans Receiver will work.  Most of standard buttons (Channel, Volume, Power) on any RC6 remote will work by default.  Some manufacture specific buttons may be programmed using IR Trans software.  80mm Fan for Active HDD Cooling (24.23 dBA) Model: RDM8025S1 - Sleeve, 12V DC Fan, 0.16A, 2500RPM, 34.85CFM, Resistance Protected "Yes", Auto Restart "Yes", Tachmal Speed Control "Yes", Alarm Output "Yes", Tachometer Output "Yes", 76g in Weight.

Standard ATX Power Supply Slot If you plan on using a high performance PSU with 120mm fan at the bottom, you will have to drill some holes at the bottom of the case prior to installation.   Standard I/O Shield Sized Slot The M/B in this demonstration is ASUS M2A-VM, a mATX M/B.

Fits mATX Mainboard ONLY Four expansion slots only.  Standard ATX mainboard will NOT be accepted in this case.  Only micro ATX mainboard will be accepted.     5.25 Inch ODD Bay The ODD in this demonstration is LG GSA-H44LK 18X Lightscribe DVD RW Drive.  Virtually all ODD will fit in this case except two conditions.  DVD tray also have a drop-down door.  Eject button is located outside of the conventional area.

Main HDD Bay This is located just above memory card reader bay.  The case accepts one main 3.5 inch HDD and one secondary HDD below ODD.  The main HDD is actively cooled by installed 80mm fan.  The secondary HDD is passively cooled by air vent right next to it.    Screw Sets 4 sets of screws are included in the case; HDD screws, ODD screws, M/B screws, and PSU screws.  It also comes with 2 units of cable ties, though not shown.
