I purchased the Datasonics VS Pro Studio software for $299 (also for sale in another auction) SPECIFICALLY designed for the Roland VS series recorders to make things MUCH MUCH easier and user-friendly. The VS Pro software links your PC/laptop to the VS1880 thru MIDI in/out cables and allows you to CONTROL (cut/paste/etc WAVEFORMS, fine tune effects and much more) the operations of the VS1880 console via your computer monitor. Very nice. I had one VS1880 at the studio and one at home. After recording tracks at the studio I would pluck the harddrive to take home and mix/cut/paste/fine tune the songs. I could then bring the harddrive back to the studio and playback for the guys. I also have the Roland CDR burner/archiver drive (for sale in another auction) and a SCSI Zip drive for smaller back-up archive saves.
