This guitar was manufactured as part of a limited production of only 200 guitars crafted in memory & recognition of Master Luthier John D'Angelico.

This instrument is #39 of only 200 ever created. (The "DP" stands for Deluxe Production)

For the archtop traditionalist, the EXL-1DP is a new classic. The acoustic sound is full and resonant, while the Kent Armstrong-designed floating pickup yields an electric sound of great nuance and authority. Visual appointments include some that haven’t been seen since John D’Angelico himself was making instruments — the solid-brass, polished Excel tailpiece and stained wood headstock overlay harken back to the good ol’ days on Kenmare Street.
