SOUND PROCESSING & EDITING

Every Drum Sound is individually recorded and specially treated using high quality compressors, equalizers, and other effect units to ensure the loudest and thickest Kicks, Hi-Hats, Snares, Claps, Cymbals, and more.

Once recorded, the Deadly Drum Samples are ran through an Akai MPC 4000 and Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampling Keyboard. The Akai MPC 4000 provides a punchy sound while the Ensoniq ASR-10 is known to provide a thick, rich, and warm sound that enhances Drum Samples. This sound quality cannot
be reproduced using current workstations.

The Drum Samples are then ran through a Compressor and Equalizer to shape and beef up the sound level. Once finished, drums are edited on a PC using a softwear editor such as Steinberg Wavelab. The samples are tightly trimmed and the dead space and hiss is cut out. The Deadly Drums are then saved as individual one-shot Wave Files (.Wav)

As you can see in the screen shots below, the Kick Drum sample with Compression and Equalization applied is much bigger (louder) than the one without. However, there is no unwanted distortion caused by signal peaking due to bad recordings.
