Rare pottery inkpot from twenties, designed by Gio Ponti for Richard-Ginori San Cristoforo, Italy. Decoration in black representing some Greek divinities (Mercury, Venus, Bacchus and some others); pottery saucer. Dimensions of the inkpot: height 3.35"; max width 3.54". Max width of the saucer: 5.51". Both the inkpot and the saucer are marked ("omaggio", free gift of the factory). Good original condition, top is missing and there is a break on the edge of the case for ink. The same object has been sold by Sotheby's (Milan) for 3.600 euros (nearly 6000 us dollars). Raro calamaio realizzato negli anni '20 da Gio Ponti per la Manifattura Richard-Ginori di San Cristoforo. In terraglia bianca con decorazione nera raffigurante alcune divinità greche (Mercurio, Venere, Bacco, Eracle, Marte, Apolline); piattino in terraglia decorata. Dimensioni del calamaio: altezza cm 8,5; larghezza max cm 9. Largh. max del piattino: cm 17. Marchio della manifattura alla base del calamaio e alla base del piattino (omaggio della manifattura). L'oggetto è in buone condizioni, tuttavia è mancante del coperchio e presenta una rottura sul bordo del contenitore per l'inchiostro.
