This saw features an alloy steel base plate, a bevel adjustment that goes to 50 degrees and can be recalibrated, and a depth-of-cut adjustment that reaches all the way to the blade. We especially liked the blade-changing mechanism--the shaft-lock button is easy to find and depress, and the hex key stores on the body of the saw, making the blade easy to switch out and replace. The DW939 has a 6-1/2-inch carbide blade to shred 2-by-4s in a single pass or rip veneer. The blade is located on the left side for better visibility and has a spindle lock for easy changes. The powerful 18-volt motor is fan-cooled and has replaceable brushes for increased durability. You will fly through your work at 3,700 rpm and you won't have to change your battery as often, because you can get up to 147 2-by-4s cut on one charge. The shoe bevels to 50 degrees and the 6-1/2-inch blade allows 2-by material to be cut at 45 degrees. You will get a ton of power in an 8.4-pound package. Kit includes saw, 16-tooth carbide blade, rip fence, XR+ battery, charger, and case.
