288mg end cut of Dhofar 1085, a feldspathic impact-melt breccia from the lunar highlands found 2003 in Oman.   The matrix of this gorgeous meteorite from the Moon displays a multiple array of pastel colors offset by darker gray shock boundaries.  Dhofar 1085 and pairings are the only set of meteorites from the moon that have this banner appearance.  The official set of individuals named Dhofar 1085 consisted of 4 stones weighing 197 grams. Oman has now closed its borders to meteorite hunters without permits, arrests have been made and it is doubtful any more export permits will be issued for non-scientific purposes making this offering exceptional.  Once these are gone, it is doubtful we will ever be able to get any more.  This specimen comes with a color identification card identifying it as coming from the world famous Hupé Planetary Collection.
