WOW!  WHAT A GREAT BILLIARDS TROPHY.  FIRST OFF THIS IS A LARGE PLAQUE MADE BY AN INCREDIBLE MAKER.  I BELIEVE IT IS A BRASS PLAQUE THAT HAS BEEN ENGRAVED ON A WOOD BACKING.  ALL ORIGINAL.  IT IS SIGNED BY THE OUTSTANDING METALWORK AND MEDAL AWARD WINNER DIEGES & CLUST LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER.  THE WORK OF THE PLAQUE IS OUTSTANDING.  THE BOTTOM IS A WONDERFUL EAGLE OVER AMERICAN CREST WITH A SCROLL BANNER OF THE BILLIARD ASSOCIATION.  ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH THE AABA WAS ACTUALLY FOUNDED IN MAY OF 1918 SO THIS WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BEEN THE INAUGURAL TOURNEY (http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9D04E1DE1E3FE433A25755C2A9659C946996D6CF).  THE WORK ON THE PLAQUE IS SO GREAT AND MADE EVEN BETTER BY AN ADDED MEDALLION THAT I THINK IS COPPER.  THE MEDALLION IS THE AABA LOGO.  REALLY SOME INCREDIBLE WORK.  THE AWARD WINNER CAN BE FOUND IN THE NEW YORK TIMES WINNING MANY TOURNAMENTS IN NEW YORK CITY IN THE EARLY 1920s.  I ALSO LOVE THAT THIS WAS PLAYED IN NEW YORK CITY.  EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS AWARD IS REALLY GREAT.  THE PLAQUE MEASURES 12 X 8 INCHES.  THE WOOD BASE THAT IT IS SCREWED TO MEASURES 15 X 11 INCHES.  ALL ORIGINAL PATINA WITH JUST A FEW VERY MINOR SPOTS. 

CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS FANTASTIC ORIGINAL PIECE.  DONT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!
