For your consideration, I am pleased to offer this red fresnel manufactured by the Syracuse glass company, N.Y., USA. The globe was made to fit the Dietz "Night Watch" lantern. It stands approx. 3¾" tall with an inner diameter of 3" at the bottom. The globe tapers up to a 2 3/8" diameter at the top. This fresnel is in PRISTINE condition. It was removed from a case of six. There are NO chips, cracks or any wear present. The ruby red color is clear and very vibrant.
Night Watch: The Dietz Night Watch lantern was introduced in 1950, and was produced until about 1956. It replaced the Dietz "8-Day" lantern designed in the 1930's, which used the same "Little Wizard" sized Fresnel globe. The Dietz Night Watch was produced with a modified tank common with the 1936 Streamline Monarch and Little Wizard lanterns. Both styles were used as highway barricade lanterns on roadway construction sites.
