A precision controller such as the Digital PH Controller (PH-201) offers a convenient way for you to keep an eye on the various water parameters in your tank. Its control is very straightforward indeed. With the electrodes in place, it can monitor the pH readings at all times while controlling the pH-related devices such as CO2 system, air outlet stone, oxygen pump, electromagnetic valve depending on its reading. In addition, this unit comes with FREE 2 BOTTLES OF CALIBRATION SOLUTION to keep the controller always accurate and in control. One of its advantages is that it can be connected to CO2 system wherein PH-201 controls (opening or closing) the solenoid valve to regulate the release carbon dioxide of the water which largely affects the pH level. Once the desired pH was set and the PH-201 sense a changes in pH level the relay-steered 220V/240V Control Output Power automatically sends signal to open or to close the solenoid valve just so the CO2 regulator will either stop releasing or to release more carbon dioxide until it reaches the set pH.

Factors controlling the pH level in your aquarium include the amount of minerals present in the aquarium water (alkalinity) and the concentration of CO2 (acidity). Excess CO2 levels can lower the pH level dramatically and severely stress your fish and loose your plants vibrant colors. This fully automatic system helps stabilize your water pH by adding an appropriate amount of CO2 to your aquarium.

High acidity or alkalinity can cause direct physical damage to skin, gills eyes and reproductive cycle of fish. Prolonged exposure to sub-lethal pH levels can cause stress, increase mucus production and encourage epithelial hyperplasia (thickening of the skin or gill epithelia) with sometimes-fatal consequences. Changes in either acidity or alkalinity can exert a powerful influence over both water quality and water chemistry, and will have a marked effect on the fish health and filter activity.

Operating Information:

• CALIBRATION:
  • Before connecting the AC power Supply make sure that PH-201 220V matches your country's voltage system.

  • Connect the PH electrode in the PH input terminal socket and slide the [PH/SET] switch to PH position.

  • Immerse the electrode in a PH6.86 buffer solution and wait for a few seconds and adjust the CAL knob until the screen displays the reading 6.86.

  • Clean the electrode with fresh water. Immerse the electrode in PH4.01 buffer solution and wait for a few seconds and adjust the SLOPE knob until the reading 4.01 appears in the screen.

  • Once done with the calibration and the CAL and SLOPE readings are set, clean the electrode with fresh water. Calibration must be done every time a new PH electrode will be used. Do the steps 1 to 7 to calibrate the readings.

  • Put the PH electrode into the solution that you want to measure.

• PH SETTING :
  • Slide the [PH/SET] switch to SET position and adjust the SET knob until it reaches your required reading.

  • Slide the [PH/SET] function switch to PH position. If the pH reading goes above the set value while setting the calibration, slide the [HI/LO] switch to HI-A position. And if pH reading goes below the set value while setting the calibration, slide the [HI/LO] switch to LO-A position.
    

 

Maintenance:

• CLEANING:
  • clean the probe tip frequently (every 3-4 weeks) using a soft toothbrush.

  • Push the probe tip down into the wet bristles and rotate the probe 3-4 times. This will clean the inner surfaces of the probe as well as the sensing glass and reference junctions. Most probes will last 12-18 months (continuous duty). They should be replaced once they cannot be calibrated.

  • Check calibration monthly to verify your readings and refer to your operation manual for directions and specification.

  • Wipe the controller's housing with dry cloth. Do not use wet cloth because it will affect the electricity flow of the controller that will cause erroneous readings.
    

• REMINDERS:
  • The controller is design for indoor use only

  • The protection Dead Band (automatic shut down) will take place when:
    • The [HI/LO] switch is set to HI position and the reading goes below the 3-5 set value the PH-201 controller will automatically shut down but when the reading goes beyond or above 3-5 digits the operation will continue or no dead band will happen.

    • The slide [PH/SET] function switch is in SET position while adjust the set valve

  • The unit must be turned-off before cleaning.

  • Use the PH-201 away from the electronic ballast.
