Large Dioptase Druzy Pendant

This pendant features a stunning piece of emerald green dioptase druzy ensnared in strands of solid sterling silver.  This is a large, thick piece of dioptase with firmly rooted crystals, natural deep emerald green color, and lots of sparkle with every move.  These crystals are cubic dioptase crystals with pools of glittering white calcite crystals scattered within some of the crystal valleys; they range from 1 to 5mm, and both gems have glassy, sparkly surfaced crystals.  There is no matrix present on the back of this piece, this is all dioptase with dots of chrysacolla and hints of malachite in some areas on the back.  This gem is from the Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Namibia- home of the finest dioptase in the world.  This mine is closed and quality pieces of dioptase are becoming a RARE find.  If you love emerald--dioptase is even prettier!

I have meticulously handcrafted this pendant with several strands of heavy 20 gauge sterling silver in a sweeping wrapped setting.  Thoughtfully and professionally crafted to protect this natural gem without obstructing its beauty.
