 These units have the OTA Tuners for local channels! All HR10-250 receivers will not get the newest format MPEG4 HD channels that DirecTV is switching to. It will get the MPEG2 HD channels already out including the OTA Local Channels HD channels and of course all of the standard definition channels that everyone watches. DirecTV’s newest units do not have the Tivo interface and are of poor design with a terrible interface. People HATE them with a passion and many are returning them. Also, DirecTV units are leased which means you have to return them when you are done with it even though you paid good money for it. These units are owned and yours to keep.
