Up for auction is a hard back book called Dolls, A New Guide for Collectors by Clara Hallard Fawcett. This book has 282 pages & was published by Charles T. Branford Co. Library of Congress catalog card number is 64-16263. This is full of pictures & excellent descriptions of the dolls. I like the older books, because many of them have dolls that aren't shown in the newer ones. I mainly use these books for identification.
"It will enable you to determine intrinsic and comparative values for various types of dolls. It will show you how to differentiate between dolls which, though they look alike, are in faxt quite different as to origin, detail, history and value." There is also "information and detailed instructions on repairing old dolls - replacing missing and broken parts, rewaxing old heads, and reconstructing worn-out doll bodies. There are over 150 photographs and many drawings by the author illustrating every type of doll mentioned in the text."
These book is in very good condition & the spine is still very tight. The previous owner's name is written on the inside front page. I try to inspect these book very carefully, but occasionally I miss something. If there is a problem with any purchase, just email me & I'll try to make it right.
