Dell "Shop Dummy" for Walt Disney's Donald Duck; Cover production art with notes From the Random House Archives pedigree
Here is a truly unique item, bought from the Random House Archives through Heritage Comic Auctions. It was a cover proof used for annotating further refinements to color and printing details. It has the organization's "shop dummy" archive stamp at the lower right.
Various notes written in blue ball point pen on the cover include: "Check and fix fit on entire cover", "Pale blue tint on eyes on all ducks", "Darken the background color shouuld be solid red and about 40% blue - see art", "These stripes same as rest of frame", "Darken the chairs see color guide", "Check to see if enough color is allowed for trim", and "Reduce the red screen on the dark edges on all of the food that is splashed around".
There are many more notes on the inside spread, and back. See scans below. Ben Samuels' American Comics & Art: I'm selling other nice items. See my other auctions (and store listings). Accurate grading. Bid with confidence - check my feedback!
