DR. SEUSS
Original artwork!
______________________________________
Pencil sketch with blue 'highlights' (see photo)
5 7/8" x 9 1/2" (paper size)
Signed: Dr. Seuss
Depicts a fish leaping from one wave to the next. Many notes and measurements have been scribbled in the margins.
Two distinct rectangle 'stains' are visible at the bottom of the paper.
The words: "...they spring from wave to wave!" are handwritten beneath the center of the artwork.
There is very light creasing to the lower lefthand corner and upper righthand corner (see photos).
Partial sketch on the reverse of the paper (cropped and 'unreadable').
No tears to the paper, no water damage or staining, smooth edges.
My ex was an avid collector (original artwork, prints, giclees, lithographs, etc - autographed books, first editions, prepublication copies, etc - precolumbian pottery - comic-book pages - many other objects/items). He purchased from estate sales, auction houses, online sales, at conventions, through galleries and private collectors, and many other sources. The vast majority of his purchases occurred in the years leading up to our marriage (that, however, does not mean he didnt continue through our marriage - he certainly did that), but the great bulk were from prior to that time. Im afraid that means that I dont have any record of where this purchase took place, who the original owner/owners was/were, or it's date of creation, etc.

To begin with, those of you who regularly purchase from me pretty much know the story behind all of my recent moves (Killeen, TX to Fairbanks, AK to Erie, PA to another address in the same city and all within the last couple months) - my Guhbabies! The good - no, the great - news is that I have yet another plane ticket to AK, but this time Im not going to stay any longer than it takes me to purchase an return ticket for my three-year-old guhbaby with enough notice to make it under $1,000.00. Yes, to all of you who have followed this drama, I get to finally rescue those little darlings! Anyway, in this most recent move (during the unpacking stage which, sadly, is still going on), I came across this drawing in another of my ex's books (what the world it was doing inside an oversized 'These United States' book, is far beyond me - I do, however, seem to recall something about "Not looking a gifthorse in the mouth").
There is a 7-day, no-questions-asked, full refund policy. If you are unhappy with the purchase, you may return for a full refund (minus initial shipping cost). Item must be postmarked for return before the 7th consecutive day after receipt. Item must also be received on our end in the same condition in which it was shipped initially to purchaser.
We happily combine shipping on all of our auctions.
Good luck, and happy bidding!
***I have been contacted by quite a few bidders with concerns over ebay's shipping calculations. It seems that their rates quote VERY high. I ship safely and at the lowest ACTUAL cost available. I do, however, charge a $1.00 packaging fee to help deter the materials cost; it is $1.00 that is used, every penny, to pack your purchase safely.***
