This auction is for an antique / vintage post card (PC) entitled, " At the Close of the Day" ... depicting a lovely scene at sunset of a team of draft horses / equines who have been unhitched from the implement or wagon they were pulling, though their harness remains on ... the farmer sits astride one horse and he is seen stopping by the house to allow the young boy and girl to visit, via a window of the home with the horses, the smaller horse definitely appears to be a youngster ~ learning the "ropes" / work from the more experienced and full-grown horse ... simply a beautiful and pastoral image and also a Birthday Greeting into the bargain!
Back is divided and used as a birthday card on Good Friday in the year 1908 ... a Wildt & Kray of London, UK, Postcard printed in Saxony
Please note: something you might not be able to discern from the scans is that the corners are slightly bumped from corner album holders ~ otherwise typical age and wear-related issues of a card of this age (101 years)
