Dragonware Lithophane Cup, Saucer & Dessert Plate

"Moriage Detail & A Geisha Inside The Cup"

• Offered for auction is a wonderful set of Lithophane including a cup, saucer and dessert plate.
• It is designed with a raised dragon and the process is called Moriage. There is a Geisha girl at the end of the cup when you hold it up to the light.
• I don't know what the mark is on the bottom but it is a Japanese mark. This set looks to be quite old. 
• The set is in very good vintage condition. The cup shows some wear on the rim but not bad for it's age. There are no cracks or repairs. Please see the pictures below.

 A Little History about the Owners

It has been my pleasure to meet the owners of the item in this auction and the items that you will be seeing over the next months. This young couple (in their late 80's) have decided it is time to sell many of their collected treasures. Over the years they have collected some of the most unique pieces I have seen in a long time. They have decided to sell many of them and move to a more manageable home. You will see original art by the owner, who was a well known artist for the Baltimore Sun, jewelry collections because they owned a jewelry store, and some of the most amazing Asian artifacts including an original Dragon Headdress. Many collectibles from all over the World including an original set of Beatles Toby Mugs by Royal Doulton as well as other Toby mugs.

Their hope is to share these many treasures with people all over the World who love to collect as they do. The pieces have been collected for many many years and are in excellent well taken care of condition.
