was published Donohue, Henneberry & Co. Dedicated to Washington Irving after meeting him, this chronicle of New England life is written in memoir style, the author known by the name Marvel, 265 pages. No copyright date but probably TOC or before as the orange calico-style patterned endpapers are usually in books from before 1900. The binding is blue cloth with an art nouveau flowing wave & leaf pattern in silver, also at the spine. About 6" tall.
In good to fair condition, the book has this wear: Name stamped at front endpaper. Pages browning & a small tear at top dedication page. Discolored areas to front, spine darkened, and red stain spots at back binding. Corners bent.
Memoirs that could be called Americana, full of 18th century New England!
