DTs A31 Spirit Cactus Quartz Amethyst South Africa
You are bidding on a terrific specimen of Cactus Quartz, aka Spirit Quartz**, from the Magaliesbert Mountain Range, Dwa Ndebele in South Africa.
This is a beautiful specimen of spirit quartz amethyst. The color is a unique shade of lilac. A very soft-purple, which truly compliments the tiny clusters of drusy amethyst crystals. They look like little mounds of flowers in a crystal garden. Here and there, emerging from the floral mounds of little pyramids of perfectly-formed, six-sided, amethyst crystal tips poke their faces up. Some are quite bold, all crystal faces are revealed. Others are partially hidden, peeking out from under the mounds.
This is another wonderful specimen to examine more closely by getting out your 10-power loupe or magnifier. (What! You don’t have a good one, check out my store. I've found the best 10-power magnifier with a precision ground glass lens for a bargain price. Order one, if you win this auction and I will ship it with your specimen.)
An interesting feature of this specimen is the exposed cores of the crystals which you can see when you look at the base of the specimen. In one of the photos below, I tried to show you what it looks like on the bottom of the piece and on the sides. Really cool! This is a gorgeous specimen. It measures 2-7/8” x 2” x 1-1/4” and weighs 4 ounces.
This unique treasure will be carefully wrapped in pink tissue, bubble wrap and boxed. It will then be shipped in a bubble envelope by USPS First Class mail to US address, or by First Class International mail, to outside of the US addresses. Insurance is optional.

**The term 'Spirit Quartz' refers to a specific variety Magaliesburg, South Africa. This type of quartz is druzy-coated specimens of amethyst, citrine, clear and white quartz, or any combination of the three. They are also known as: Atlantean Lovestars, Cactus Quartz, Pineapple Quartz and Fantasy Quartz.
A bit of History on Spirit Quartz: Spirit Quartz aka Cactus Quartz first appeared in the fall of 2002, at the exact time of the Earth Summit which was held and celebrated in South Africa. During this time of the "gathering of the twelve tribes," this crystal was presented in various colors and formations. To those interested in the metaphysical, the crystals were recognized to work with "humankind" as an expediter of joy to the eye and as a healing tool, for those of the new consciousness. These crystals come from the red lands of the Northern Province, lived in and owned by a black tribe, led by a King and Tribesmen. Small family groups dig and sell their own crystals, making them individual business members adding to the manifestation of self-empowerment so prevalent in the New South Africa. In this peaceful setting, far away from the city, with only a few shops and simple amenities, with dogs and small children running the tree lined streets, they clean and sort their ‘babies," so that they might travel the world to share their magic. Their magic is gained from the sun and moon, and all the elements (and elementals) around them. This wonderful peace is absorbed by the cactus quartz crystals.
