DTs C279 Tigerseye Gemstone Carving Golden Brown Turtle

This cute little turtle has been carved from a beautiful piece of gem quality tiger’s eye (alt. sps. tigerseye, tigereye). There is excellent detail in the carving, even the bottom (belly & feet) of the turtle's shell has been carved. The stone has been highly polished to bring out the beautiful chatoyancy of the tigerseye. The turtle measures about 2-1/2" from tail to nose x 1-1/2" across the back, stands 1-1/8" tall and weighs about three ounces. Carved in China, this is a wonderful animal sculpture for the turtle collector. This quality work it is well worth the opening bid. This beautiful tiger’s eye critter will be carefully wrapped in pink tissue, bubble wrapped and boxed and mailed to the winning bidder by USPS First Class mail, or by First Class International mail, to outside of the US address. Insurance is optional.

TIGER’S EYE - S. AFRICA - Gold/Brown
 — Tiger’s Eye (alt. spelling Tigerseye, tiger eye) is a quartz replacement of crocidolite (blue or gold asbestos). The changed asbestos fibers are twisted or crumpled and that accounts for the chatoyancy, which is created by reflected light by the fibrous structure. Wearing a piece of tigereye is believed to protect the wearer from bad luck and danger by keeping constant watch with their bright eyes, referring to the brilliance of the chatoyancy. Metaphysicists believe tigereye brings together the vibrations of the sand and sun. It is also believed to instill power, strong will, insight and centering to the wearer.
