Bidding has ended on this item. Item:DUG CIVIL WAR BOTTLES AND DUTCH ONION. CAMP NELSON, KY |
|
|
Up for bids are five Black Glass Bottles that I dug this past year in the area of the famous Civil War site, Camp Nelson Kentucky. All of these bottles were found together on privately owned land with the owner's permisson. Included in these five black glass bottles are two that date from the 1840's, two that date from the 1820's and one--a "DUTCH ONION"--that dates from the late 1700's. All of them are in very good condition except for the Dutch Onion. It has a small crack near its base. With the exception of that, the Dutch Onion is very solid and is great for displaying.I have enclosed two photos of that crack for you to inspect. I should add that in my thirty years of diging at Camp Nelson, this is only the third Dutch Onion that I have found. I know of no one else that has found any. But then, very few people have ever found a single bottle there, period. These bottles were all dug together in a privy at some four feet deep along with several good relics, including two canteens. They are fresh finds of this year and have never been for sale. Please look at the photos as they should show you exactly what is what. If you want a very good group of dug bottles from a noted Kentucky Civil War site these are it. Please look at the forty listings that I will have on EBAY this week as you will see some great items. I will be listing several more groups of bottles, etc. I am allowing you to set the value of these bottles. BID WITH CONFIDENCE.I guarentee everything as so stated. Thank you. Robbie Robbins. |
