Just connect the GX-E2 electrode to the equipment and it's fully functional and ready to use. Once your new pH electrode probe is connected to the electrode input terminal, you will need to calibrate it using the supplied calibration (buffer) solution. Operating Information:

• CALIBRATION:
  • Connect the PH electrode in the PH input terminal socket
    
• Immerse the electrode in calibration solution (buffer) and wait for a few seconds
  
• Once done with the calibration and readings are set, clean the electrode with fresh water. Calibration must be done every time a new PH electrode will be used.
  
• Put the PH electrode into the solution that you want to measure.

Maintenance:

• CLEANING:
• Clean the probe tip frequently (every 3-4 weeks) using a soft toothbrush.
  
• Push the probe tip down into the wet bristles and rotate the probe 3-4 times. This will clean the inner surfaces of the electrode's tip as well as the sensing glass and reference junctions. They should be replaced once they cannot be calibrated.
  
• Check calibration monthly to verify your readings and refer to your operation manual for directions and specification.
  
• Though our electrode is not waterproof, it can be immersed under water for long periods of time.
• Immerse only up to half past the sensor tip.
• TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE YOUR ELECTRODE LAST LONGER:
  • Probe cleaning is a very important function of preventive maintenance. Improperly cleaned probes can cause mistreatment. Probes should be cleaned and calibrated to the instrument at least once a week or it might be fouled. Fouling (encrusting of dirt due to foreign matter) reduces the effectiveness of a probe sensor, it should be cleaned promptly.
  • To meet the needs of each individual system, a preventive maintenance cleaning and calibration program should be initiated on the startup of the system. The frequency of the cleaning and calibration process is dependent on the type of foulant to be removed. In any event, we recommend that the probes be cleaned a minimum of at least once a week, and calibrated as required with two point buffer solutions.
  • Please do not subject the glass electrode to shocks or other mechanical abuse. Kindly check the glass electrode periodically to see that it is not fouled. If it is fouled, wipe with a soft cloth, taking care not to break the glass electrode. Never use abrasive cleaners on the probe or glass electrode. The sensing electrode at the base of the probe is made of glass and can break easily.
