Dutch Silver Cockerel Sugar Caster 1887











Extremely Rare Dutch Silver Rooster Sugar Caster

Hallmarked with Lion mark and no 2, for 0.833 Silver fineness, and letter C, for 1887 (see photos)

Extremely detailed piece with red ruby inset eyes and tail feathers

Beautifully hand chased and engraved

Tilting hinged head reveals a pierced cover with a urn finial - Original cover is hallmarked with Dutch sword mark

Stands 8.5" high x 7.5" x 2" thick

Weighs a heavy 12.5 oz

Great condition - tiny small surface scratch on one of ruby eyes

A rare striking example has never before been seen as a Sugar Caster!
