 I purchased this cradle for my son, but he refused to sleep anywhere but our bed because I nursed. I would say we tried to use it for a month. Then it became a collecting bin for baby stuff. We thought we would use it for my daughter, but we never even tried. It is in near new condition with some minor scratching from being moved from room to room or possibly from assembly. The key keeps the cradle locked in place for sleeping. Remove it to use the rocking feature.
