How does Odomos work?

Mosquitoes use visual, thermal, and olfactory stimuli to locate a host. Of these, olfactory cues are probably most important.

In simple words - Mosquitoes find you out by sniffing you out, rather than by seeing you. Your skin emits a variety of distinctive smells, which the mosquito uses to find out where you are and therefore bite you.

New Advanced Odomos uses a formula containing N N Diethyl benzamide, which masks the distinctive body odour which your skin emits. Therefore the mosquito cannot detect you through your body odour.

In effect, you have become invisible to the mosquito.
The mosquito is unharmed and so are you, but it won't bite you, because it cannot perceive you.

How effective is Odomos ?

Odomos offers 100% protection against mosquito bites. Odomos contains an active ingredient N'N Diethyl Benzamide, which is known to repel effectively various species of mosquitoes. The repellents must be applied to all exposed areas of skin; unprotected skin a few centimeters away from a treated area can be attacked by hungry mosquitoes. Haffkine Institute, Mumbai has done extensive testing on efficacy of Odomos and has certified that it offers more than 8 hrs. protection against mosquito bites. Our R&D Center has also corroborated these results by doing in-house testing against mosquitoes.

How safe is Odomos and what are the tests carried out?

Historically, Odomos is having a remarkably good safety profile, with no reported adverse reactions from consumers, or reported to our distributors over the last 30 yrs. Odomos is a skin friendly Cream, containing the repellent NN Diethyl Benzamide in 12% concentration. Its ability to protect against mosquitoes is well documented. Dermal absorption studies done on Odomos reveals that there is no absorption of the active in the blood plasma, thereby concurring that it is absolutely safe on human skin. The studies carried out at IIT ( Indian Institute of Toxicology) have also shown that Odomos Cream is safe for use, as it has a not shown any toxicity. These scientific studies reaffirm the faith of our consumers in general who have used the product for the last 3 decades.

How to get total protection with Odomos?

You must apply Odomos completely to all the exposed areas of the skin. It is very important that this is done, because insect repellents work as a chemical barrier to mosquitoes and are effective for only a few centimetres above the skin and stops just a few millimeters from the treated areas. Incidentally mosquitoes can bite through very thin clothing, so it may be necessary to apply Odomos under your clothes.
Re-apply Odomos if you are out longer than the recommended 8 hours of protection .
