Up for sale in this auction is my much valued cedar top, fixed bridge, Weissenborn Style Gutiar. The guitar was hand made by a well-known luthier from Tasmania, Australia, Daniel Brauchli. The only reason that I am selling this Weissenborn style guitar is that I am getting an 8-string version from the same luthier. If you haven't heard of Daniel's guitars, you might want to do some research (eg., guitarseminars.com, youtube, harmony central, etc). Also, check out Daniel's web site.
I have played a number of modern Weissenborn style guitars from Australian and overseas makers and the Brauchli Weissenborn has a tone, volume and sustain that is superior to my ears. It is just so rich and loud. This must be from the wood, Daniel's unique design and construction methods (including carbon fibre bracing). You will be blown away by the sound of this guitar.
The woods that Daniel uses in his guitars are outstanding. The top on this guitar is Cedar. The back and sides are Tasmanian Blackwood, with what I believe to be Tasmanian Eucalypt inlays (which are stunning and functional, as they provide easy visibility of frets through peripheral vision).
The guitar is generally in very good condition. It does have a couple of small dents on the top of the guitar which can be seen in the pics. I don't feel this detracts from the overall aesthetic appeal of the guitar.
The guitar has upgraded Gotoh 510s - smooth as silk, as well as a K&K Fantastick UST pickup which sounds great - very high output.
Comes with hardshell case.
This really is a special guitar that represents great value.
Insured shipping within Australia is $50.
