David Davidson Hand Tinted Photo "The House in Order"

The item being offered is a vintage hand tinted photograph by David Davidson, a student of Wallace Nutting. This is one of Davidson's larger pieces, and it is titled "The House in Order". The photograph is titled lower left and signed lower right in the margin David Davidson. The image is an interior scene complete with fireplace, braided rug, sampler and Early American furnishings. There is a sticker on the back with some nice provenance. It states the the interior is of the The Martin House in Swansea, Massachusetts, and is number 974. I believe that the house is now on the National Register of Historic Places. The photograph is framed in a wood frame with gilt edge treatment. The photograph itself measures approximately 16" x 12", and the frame 21¾" x 17½". The piece is in very good condition with great color retention and detail. Any distortion in my photographs below is caused by shadows and reflection in the glass.
