*~*~* Dia de los Muertos *~*~* Up for auction is my very unique Mexican folk art doll. She is approx 36 inches tall and is made from cotton fabric. She has been painted twice with black acrylic paint. She has jointed arms and legs. Her head is a round shape and has been hand painted. All her mismatched "bones" and skull have been painted and aged out in burnt umber. Hard to see in pictures. Not at all perfect but adds to the folky look. Her teeth have also been darkened with burnt umber. Her dress is made from a colorful vintage scarf and has been hand gathered around her waist. She has a scarf wrapped around her waist made from the same fabric. She is wearing a peasants shirt made from a hot pink cotton material and vintage turquise trim . It has been gathered aound her collar and her elbows. She is wearing turquise blue floral print bloomes under her dress.
On her head I made colorful "flowers" from vintage yellow trim and hot pink ribbon. It is tacked on with tiny stitches. She is also holding the same colorful trim "flowers". They have also been tacked on to rusty wire and can be posed to your liking. This big dollie comes from my U.S. home and is all hand made just for you. She will arrive signed and dated by me. Thank you for looking.
This doll is crudely sewn and constructed. Any imperfections are intended and add to the folky charm. Please ask questions before bidding. Shipping and handling will be a bit more but this is a very large doll. Please wait for invoice to make sure you do not overpay for shipping.
