DeLorean part number 106130, Speedometer Angle Drive. Notoriously unreliable and unavailable for nearly a year and with no news on replacements, I had a new type angle drives custom designed here in the UK. (unfortunately the exchange rate is a bit unfavourable to the US dollar right now, but you do get free shipping!)

As you can see from the photos, these are made from scratch from a block of aluminium billet, with threaded brass fittings that allow for dismantling for servicing, cleaning and re-lubricating, and user-replacement of the stub axle cable. The gears are hardened steel and the whole unit is packed with high quality grease. These really are excellent hand-made quality items, and this is reflected in the price.

These new units also come with the hub nut already installed. Please fit with appropriate application of anti-seize compound.

NOTE ANY angle drives are very susceptible to problems elsewhere in the speedometer system. After removing the lower speedo cable (pn 101412) where it joins the angle drive, it is VERY important that you are able to spin the cable in your fingers and make the speedometer move. If it takes a lot of effort to do this, there is a problem and you need to replace or lubricate either the upper (pn 101604) or lower cables OR the lambda counter box (pn 101606). On rare occasions the odometer in the speedometer head itself has been known to cause problems too. When re-fitting the lower cable to the drive, ensure the ring is tight and the cable is held solidy to the drive.

WARRANTY: All units have been thoroughly tested prior to dispatch. It is imperative that you are satisfied with the movement of the drive prior to fitting it to your car. THE ONLY CIRCUMSTANCE UNDER WHICH I WILL REFUND OR REPLACE THE UNIT IS IF THE DRIVE ITSELF BINDS. This is valid for 60 days after auction end. I will NOT replace it due to a snapped input cable, unless the drive itself binds when tested.
