This is a beautiful set of 5 coordinating household decorative items. Each piece containes the image of Apollo holding his bow and resting with his muscular hunting hound, a lute at his side. This classic image fades to a warm, deep, vivid red shade which covers the rest of the face each item. These items are perfect to scatter about a room to pull together that room's decor. This makes them lovely to give as a gift or to keep for yourself. This beautifully decorated set is created using the découpage method, an artform that finds its roots in the decorative work of 12th C Chinese peasants, though the methods used to decorate this plate more closely resemble the work done in Venice during the 17th C: The image of  Apollo at rest is taken from a famous painting, and the background of trees and shrubbery, as well as the red they bleed into are all hand painted. Then several layers of lacquer is applied upon the entirety. This set is made up of a decorative plate, a covered dish, a bell, a vase, and a candlestick holder, 5 items total. They range in size from 3" to 5".
