"The Fortune Cookie" approximately 6"w x 7"h with 9" handles One of a unique collection of exquisite handbags and accessories by Philadelphia fashion designer Denise Shardlow. She and her staff of cottage artisans handcraft each piece.
This exquisite bag in the classic shape of the fortune cookie is the most popular silhouette in the Denise Shardlow Collection. Inspired by the gift of a circa 1930 handbag from India she received as a young girl, Ms. Shardlow crafted "The Fortune Cookie". It was to become the founding piece of her handbag line. Luminous shantung silk merges with the Designer's own fabric invention - a painstakingly constructed combination of English netting, silk and glass stones. Free-form top-stitching holds the stones in place and provides even more texture and pattern to this stunning bag. The imaginative fabric composition was inspired by the works of Swiss artist Paul Klee, specifically A Little Room in Venice, 1933, and Jewels, 1937. Other details include delicate handles of silky cording and one of the Designer's signature "button"s - this style is crafted from a glass stone as well. A durable facing is fused to the silk to provide body and lasting wear and this bag is fully lined with coordinating fabric. Look inside to find your fortune.
"The Fortune Cookie" is currently available in the fabrics and colors shown below
**** Please Note **** The iridescence and reflectiveness of many of our fabrics makes their color and luster difficult to portray precisely in photographs. Though we attempt to describe them accurately, true colors may vary. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
