Dept 56. "Crowntree Freckleton Windmill" Dickens Village #56.58472. Introduced in 2000 for one year only. This is a 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Hand Numbered #15,075 of 30,000 pieces. At one time there were 10 thousand windmills in Great Britain, many of which could be found along the canals. Many of the sails on these early wind machines were wooden frames covered with cloth and were known as "common" sails. Performing such useful tasks as grinding grain and pumping water, their sails swept majestically around just like the animated ones of this first edition windmill. Sails are detachable. Mint condition and Brand New in original box. The windmill is animated.
