The Reef Resort is an excellent choice for mixed diver/non-diver couples and families. Our diver guests have access to the best of Grand Cayman diving with Ocean Frontiers, while our non-diving guests can laze around our 1,600 foot beach front with two swimming areas, two freshwater pools, or playing beach volleyball and tennis. We’re located away from the crowds on the island’s east end, so you’ll enjoy a truly serene tropical escape.

 Never has a resort been more aptly named than, "The Reef". Protecting the waters and pristine beach of Colliers Bay, the reef contributes to the beauty of the location in so many ways. It provides the catalyst that creates the kaleidoscope of colors on the waters surface, the muffled symphony of background music as waves roll against it and a beautiful sub-aquatic wonderland. Those that take time out to absorb and experience the sights and sounds will soon become entranced by the sheer beauty that surrounds them.

 Relax at our beach bar and grill, take a bike ride, play some tennis, or just "chill" on the beach. Convenience is yours at the Beach Locker Boutique, the Thirsty Surfer liquor store and Internet café, as well as the Fosters Express supermarket. Fun is always the top priority with a range of recreational opportunities, from snorkeling right off the beach to diving and horseback riding - the sky is the limit (yes, our concierge can even arrange a helicopter tour!).

A 1,600-foot beach provides ample room for sunbathing and there are coral heads right off the beach for snorkeling. One pool complex comprises two rock-lined free-form pools with a children's pool between and an eight-person spa tub. One pool measures 75 feet long and is bordered by a rock waterfall. The other measures 40 feet and features an infinity edge. A second pool complex comprises an 80-foot-long free-form pool and a six-person spa tub.

Ocean Frontiers, Grand Cayman’s premier scuba diving company, has a dive shop located nearby The Reef. This PADI 5-Star Gold Palm IDC Center provides divers with everything they need for unbelievable underwater Cayman island diving adventures. Divers consistently rank Ocean Frontiers as having both the world’s best dive staff and best dive operation.

Ocean Frontiers offers a two-tank wall and reef dive each morning and each afternoon, as well as stingray dives and snorkeling, coral reef snorkel trips and night dives. The Ocean Frontiers mini-bus picks up divers at The Reef twice daily. They offer valet diving (cleaning, rinsing, and storing of your dive gear) while you stay at The Reef.

Ocean Frontiers offers dive classes for divers of every experience level, from beginners to dive masters. High-quality diving gear is available to rent, as are boats, kayaks and more.

Stingray City Sandbar Sailing and Snorkeling Trip

Twice a week, The Reef Resort offers the best Stingray City trip for sailing and snorkeling on Grand Cayman. We charter a 50' catamaran exclusively for our guests and sail out in the afternoon from Kaibo Yacht Club. Stingray City, a feeding ground for stingrays, is a unique and world renowned Grand Cayman snorkeling spot. The stingrays love the shallow sandy bottom in this area and in the nearby Sandbar site at the entrance to Rum Point Channel.

Dave and Alan from White Sands Water Sports are pros when it comes to showing you a good time in and on the water. Providing a variety of water based activities for the beginner to the seasoned pro, White Sand staff are always on hand to offer advice and assistance to those looking to try their hand at one of the many activities on offer.

Transportation

Transportation is NOT included in your price. The Reef is about 40 minutes from the airport. Guests are responsible to provide transportation for themselves. You may rent a car at the airport upon arrival. The Reef has rental cars available on site to rent also. (Please be advised that they drive on the OTHER side of the road.) We will arrange transportation for you from the airport to the resort if you choose. The rate is $40.00 per person, one way and is paid to the driver, not in advance. Expect to pay a much higher rate if you hire transportation when you arrive. You will be asked for your transportation choice on the reservation request form.
