DESCRIPTION
Born in Los Angeles, CA this early production 1969 Dodge Coronet 500 left the factory with a 383 High Performance V-8 and a yellow on black color combination, but this is just the beginning of its journey. Now equipped with a alcohol burning fuel injected 440 CID V-8 making almost 800 horse power, this all out race car quickly found its way to the drag strip where it spent most if not all of its life. Fans of nostalgic drag racing take note, this is a true vintage high performance machine sporting all old school mechanicals making it legal for most if not all nostalgic drag racing events. It has, however, had a host of safety upgrades bringing it into the current including: full roll cage, ’08 approved 6 point harness, NASCAR approved battery box, Stroud driver’s racing net, Plexiglas rear windows, JAZ racing seat, AutoMeter tach and much more.

Capable of sub 10 second ETs, this purpose built car is NOT for the beginner but is so well set up all the driver has to do is burn out, stage it, put it in drive, hold the line at 5,500 RPM and launch at the green light! With the rev limiter is set at 6,800 and the trans will shift on its own taking the guess work out of running and creating a very consistent pass right in the 10 second flat range. This very special car is built around a phenomenal 440 CID V-8 featuring Hilborn adjustable alcohol fuel injection system making 796 HP linked to a built 727 automatic transmission with a 5,500 stall torque converter, custom made air scoop, Dana locking rear axle, Weld racing wheels with Hoosier racing slicks, B&M shifter, trans loc, open exhaust headers with new “tuning” pipe included, beautifully tubbed rear fenders, and so much more! Call for details.

Boasting a Southern California heritage, this Coronet comes with its Blue Plates and a reasonably nice paint scheme over a very tight body and undercarriage, original dash in excellent condition, original door panels, custom made rear seat, nicely detailed carpeted trunk, a new harness set, fuel injection metering “pills” 4 alcohol bottles, 10 gallons of pure alcohol, and more. This is an amazing car built for one purpose and represents a piece of American drag racing history. Aficionados of Nostalgic automobiles look no further, this is truly a collectors OR racer’s dream!
