Description: 16" doll with a wax over composition head on a cloth with wood body. She is what is referred to as a Pumpkin Head or Squash head doll. She is over 150 years young! Would have been made in Germany. She has some cracking to the face as you can see in the pictures. She does not appear to have anything done to the wax. She has glass inset eyes. They are pupilless. She has a wonderful hairdo with a black band. Her body has had a cover put over it, they did a good job but can tell the old body is still under it. She has wooden feet and hands so that would date her to 1850-1860. I love her dress, she wears two slips and pantaloons. Whenever she was dressed they did a good job on marking it look older. The great think about her face is there is no chipping away around the eyes, so even with the crack lines she is very charming. If you can love her the way she is, she can come to your home.
