This auction is for an assortment of doll parts. They were obtained at a local auction with some other items, I don't really know anything about them. None have any maker's marks I can find.
There's a boys head in perfect condition. It's about 3 1/2" tall, has reddish brown hair, freckles, and blue eyes. This head is perfect and bright enough that I'm assuming it's either modern or a pristine older example.
There's a pair of women's/girl's heads about 2 5/8" tall. These both have an overall look of being old. The yellow haired head has a small chip through the glaze on the tip of her nose and back of her hair. The beige haired girl has a larger nose chip, small front of hair chip, and light bustline chip.
The wood doll body is about 7 1/2". It appears to be made of oak. The bust/head is painted, the remainder is natural, unfinished wood. There are black fabric shoes on the feet. The leg strings are still good. The shoulder strings are coming apart but at the moment the arms are still attached to the body.
IMPORTANT - READ THIS !!! I LIKE TO HAVE FUN BUYING AND SELLING ON eBay! My goal is to have a successful auction from everybodys' perspective. I want the auction winner to be happy with the good deal they got, and I want to be satisfied with the prompt completion of the transaction, communication, and shipping. With this in mind, I'm going to bore you with how and why I do things. Hopefully this will give pause to those who feel they need to educate me about my high cost of shipping. If you can't be bothered reading this or following these common-sense rules and requests, please don't bid.
COMMUNICATION - I really appreciate quick communication at the end of the auction. Letting me know if there's going to be a delay in payment or any other issue is very much appreciated. If you can't be bothered notifying me within 3 days of the auction's end how and when you intend to pay, please don't bother bidding. If I still haven't heard a peep from you after 7 days I'll notify Ebay and take the appropriate action. If you're going on vacation, starting the day before the auction ends, that's no problem as long as you let me know about it. I've found that most of the Ebayers, including myself, wrap things up promptly with PayPal, usually within 24-48 hours of auction end. I appreciate this very much. For the folks who anxiously follow an auction, win it, and can't be bothered dropping me a note about any delays, please don't bid.
SHIPPING - I give an upfront flat rate quote so you can calculate it in as part of the cost of the item. I've been taken advantage of a couple of times by sellers quoting an exorbitant shipping fee after the auction and have vowed to never participate in an auction where I don't know the costs up front, nor will I treat another buyer that way. I live in Florida. When I calculate a shipping fee before listing an item, I assume I'm shipping it to Washington state. If you're in the middle of the country and shipping distances are less, then my cross-country quote might seem high. Sometimes I quote too high and make more profit, sometimes I quote too low and eat the difference. It is NOT my intention to make unreasonable profits on shipping. It's best to consider the shipping as part of the overall auction price. If you feel the upfront quoted price is unreasonable, and thinking about it is going to ruin your day, please don't bid on the item and please don't feel you need to educate me about shipping charges. Also bear in mind that while an item might seem small or light to you, significant packaging might add a considerable amount to the weight or size for calculating shipping. I primarily use USPS because of the inconvience in my location of using FedEx or UPS. My local USPS office is way too small for the amount of business they have to do, so don't assume that it's convenient for me to make special inquiries for you.
COMBINED SHIPPING - I don't have a predetermined schedule for combined shipping discounts. Typically, I'll discount the shipping AFTER the auction by about 50% of the difference between the quoted amount and the actual shipping. For instance, if the quoted combined shipping for 2 auction items is $20, but the true cost is going to be $10, in MOST cases, you'll be charged $15 for shipping and handling. You've saved $5 and I've made $5. This amount will vary depending on what's involved in actually packaging or shipping the products. I cannot fairly quote the discount amount until the auctions are over and I can determine what's involved for final packing and shipping. If you win more than one of my auctions, either request a total or wait for me to send you an invoice with the total shipping included. Sometimes the discount is very low, less than $.25, and sometimes it's quite significant, more than $20. Some items are cheapest using the USPS Priority Mail flat rate box, in these cases I cannot offer a combined shipping discount and will try to mention that in the description.
ITEM DESCRIPTION - I really try to describe items as accurately as possible. I try to emphasize the blemishes and problems with items when I'm aware of them. I've had a number of comments from satisfied buyers that the items were better than expected when they received them.
PROBLEMS - I expect to be notified if there's any problem with the purchased item. I will do what I can to make it right and will go to great lengths, regardless of an item's price, to work with reasonable and polite eBayers in resolving a problem. Bad auction experiences are no good for anyone The only "negative" feedback I've had so far was from an individual, whose items were damaged in shipping, and decided to post neutral feedback for me without notifying me of the problem or providing me the opportunity to refund money.
YOUR BID - I typically start my items low and have to be happy with that amount in many cases. If you get caught up in the auction and pay more than an item is worth, it's certainly not fair to expect me to refund any money to you under these circumstances. The only exception to this will be if I've unintentionally misrepresented the item. YOU are deciding what something is worth, not me. If I'm telling you I'm not knowledgable about an item, this is my way of politely telling you that YOU need to know what you're bidding on.
Payment PayPal preferred. Money orders, bank checks, certified checks OK. No personal checks.
Shipping SHIPPING QUOTES ARE FOR THE CONTIGUOUS 48 STATES. This amount is usually for the cheapest route possible without any extras like insurance or signature confirmation. If any of these are required the S&H charge will probably be higher. HAWAII and ALASKA may be a bit more. I've found that shipping to CANADA WILL USUALLY BE MORE by $15. I will ship to certain other countries. There will be a $5 additional charge if I ship outside of the US because I have to complete a Customs form.
Feedback I will promptly leave positive feedback for you after I know that you received the item A-OK and you've left positive feedback for me. If there is any problem with the item I'd sure appreciate the opportunity to take care of the problem. Bad auction experiences are no good for anyone.
