Free Shipping (48 Continental States Only) You Save $115 - $150 This turn of the century trunk is dated approximately 1875 - 1885 tin covered embossed sea shell design with steel banding, end caps, slat clamps, latches and original lock. The horizontal slats are hardwood. Exterior Measurements: 28" L x 16" W x 18" H at the highest point. The interior of wood has been cleaned thoroughly, and then treated with four (4) coats of Tung Oil. All metal trim, both steel and tin, has been cleaned with all rust removed and painted satin black. The shell embossed tin has been cleaned and treated with satin clear enamel. Trunks nails have been replaced where necessary to tighten parts. The new custom leather lid lift is a replacement as well as new cast iron handles and appointments. The lid stay is the original used for safety when the lid is in the up or open position. The trunk bottom was painted with a premium satin black finish including the hardwood slats. The bottom was painted black originally.
