This cookie jar was manufactured by the Doranne of California in Los Angeles, California. They manufactured cookie jars from 1951 - ?. This jar was manufactured in the early 1980's, we know this because it was shown in their catolog in the 1980's. It has no marks on the bottom.

This jar has sayings engraved into all four sides of the jar: Kids love milk, Milk and cookies, Kids love cookies and on the front Cookies and milk.

The body of the jar has no chips, cracks or crazing. There are numerous manufacturing flaws where glaze is darker or there are dimples in the glaze, I tried to take a lot of pictures so that you can see for youself. There are four chips on the lid, on was there when I got the jar in the early 1990's, the other three happened in July when we had our last big earthquake. I tried to capture them in the pictures, the lid bounced of the jar as I bounced of the sofa. The lid also has one crack, it did not go all the way through and crazing.The cookie jar measures about 11 1/4"" tall with the lid on. 5" at the base across the front and 4 1/2" front to back at the base. The jar empty weighs just over almost 5 pounds.
